This program is very close to what I've been searching for! A very competent audio player, small, cross platform, and it works!
However, I have noticed that the behaviour for detecting albums doesn't seem to work for every album. The case in point is http://www.archive.org/details/bktr001-va_-_ihyper where each track is tagged as "iHyper" and each artist is different. I notice that the album detection seems to work when the album has the same artist.
Can someone clarify this? I don't want to have to change my music collection just to play it in album order.
Thanks!

I also like to get my mixed album listed as albums, but at the same time i like to tag the songs correct. Therefor I'm tagging with the original album, author and year.
You are keeping the mixed album tag, but still this isn't quite enough. There do not seems to be a standard to overcome this issue. If you think of one please write!

In your case you want to preserve the original album where the track came from. Where as in my case I want to preseve the artist of the track on the album. The solution I should use is to retag the tracks as "Various Artist", but I'm not personally very fond of that option as you loose the Artist. I would, if I can suggest an alternative, is to give the user the choice as to which they use. Have an setting in the Options menu giving them some way of choosing which field to group Albums by.
If it helps, I'm familiar with Java and Java coding, I could help you to make the changes to the code if you need help :)
Thanks!
